BHADERWAH, June 17: Army organised “Horse Race” for Gujjars at Padri Galiat, here today.
In the horse race, organised by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under the aegis of counter insurgency force (Delta), a total of 36 Gujjars participated.
To boost the morale of the Gujjars, the winners of the race were awarded cash prizes.
The race was organised by the Army as a part of ongoing process of winning hearts and minds of the local population.
Army has been constantly undertaking a variety of projects for welfare and motivation of people.
While speaking, Fakir Hussain, Numberdar, expressed gratitude to the Army for organizing this event. He added that these kinds of activities keep them motivated and has brought colours to their monotonous life.
