JAMMU, Sept 30: Army today organised an Essay Writing competition and also inaugurated Library at Government Middle School, Thain.
The event was organised by Barasingha Battalion under the aegis of Krishna Ghati Brigade.
The aim of the competition was to develop the powers of expression among the children and also to kindle the competitive spirit among them.
The competition was organised in two groups, in which six students each from five schools participated.
All the participants of the competition were given prizes.
On the occasion, Library was also inaugurated for provision of books for students.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the school said that these types of competitive activities would surely enlighten students and help their imagination and power of expression to blossom.
While interacting with the participating children and teachers, Commander, Krishna Ghati Brigade, emphasised on the need to make education institution a centre of personality development along with academic excellence.
