RAJOURI, Sept 7: Army organised a Kho-Kho tournament for girls in the memory of Shaheed Havildar Chuni Lal of Indian Army who had made supreme sacrifice for the nation while performing his duty.
The aim of the event was to encourage the local students to take up sports as a career and also to provide a platform to showcase their potential.
A total of Six Schools – Govt Higher Secondary School, Manjakote, Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Manjakote, Govt Higher Secondary Secondary, Kakora, LK Public High School, Manjakote, Genius Public Institute Sasalkote and Govt High School, Doongi participated in the tournament.
The team from Govt Higher Secondary School, Kakora was adjudged the winners of the tournament while team from Govt High School, Doongi was declared as the runners-up.
The event was attended by the teaching staff, school children, parents and eminent citizens of the nearby villages.
On the occasion, Army applauded the participants for their efforts and encouraged them to make the best use of such a platform to display their sporting talent.
