Army distributes stationery, sports gear among students

Officers of 21 Rajput Batallian Tuthwal Brigade distributing stationery items and sports gear among students on Monday.

NOWSHERA, Aug  27: 21 Rajput Battalion under the aegis of Tithwal Brigade distributed stationery and sports items to students from the schools of various villages, here today.
The villages included Devetta, Quila Drahal, Rajpur Kamila, Bhatta, Kalsian, Saidgarh, Serh, Jabbar Kalsian and Jhangar of tehsil Nowshera situated at the Line of Control.
The ceremony was organised as part of ‘Operation Sadbhavana’ of Army in which more than 1500 students were benefited.
The programme was organized at Government Middle School, Kalsian in which a large number of students, teachers and parents took part.
Officers of Educational Department of Nowshera zone and other administrative officers also attended the function. The officers appreciated  the Indian Army for their role at Line of Control and various project for the welfare and development of local people under Operation Sadbhavana.
Prominent personalities of the area and Sarpanchs of the villages appreciated the gesture of the Indian Army for understanding the needs of the students of remote villages. They also advised the students to work hard and bring fame to these border villages.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commanding Officer promised for all possible help from the Army to the students and local population of remote villages in future also.  He distributed stationery items including note books, pencils, pens, different types of charts and model and sports items which included cricket kit, badminton kit, volleyball, football and carom board to school students.
