Army conducts fruit jam making classes for women

BHADARWAH, Dec 15: The Rashtriya Rifles under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force (Delta) conducted “fruit jam making classes for women” at Bhadarwah under Operation Sadhbhavana which culminated, today.
A total of 20 women from socially and economically backward strata of the society have benefitted and trained on nuances of fruit jam making by Ved Rajan to enable them to stand on their own feet and become financially independent and self-employed.
During the closing ceremony Second-in-Command, Rashtriya Rifles unit, Zahir of Chakka and residents of nearby village of Bhadarwah were present. In his speech, one of the attendees Nisha Devi wife of Pramod Kumar said that ‘The Army has always been on the forefront in organising constructive activities for the locals, and we are thankful to the organization for the same’.
The project will go a long way in advancement and empowerment of women of the region and would help them to pursue an independent vocation and make them confident and independent individuals, Second-in-Command Rashtriya Rifles unit said.
The classes were conducted from November, 24, 2014 which concludes today.
