AWANTIPORA, Feb 14: Army under the aegis of Chinar Corps organized an Inter-Village Cricket Tournament from January 18, 2015 to February 14, 2015.
The Tournament received an overwhelming response from the locals in which 18 teams from the nearby villages participated with an immense enthusiasm, despite extremely cold weather conditions.
The final match of the League was played between the teams of Kakapora Cricket Club and Green Stars of Khanmoh.
Kakapora Cricket Club won the match by a narrow margin of 15 runs in a close contest.
Players of both the winning and the runners-up teams were awarded by the Deputy GOC Victor Force with the gold and silver medals. Certificates of excellence and the individual prizes were also distributed by the dignitaries on the occasion.
