JAMMU, Apr 26: Army Public School Jammu Cantt celebrated its Annual Day in General Zorawar Auditorium, here today.
The programme was marked by the colours and cultural bonanza.
Usha Singh, Chairperson, Family Welfare Organization (FWO) of Tiger Division was the chief guest who inaugurated the three hour scintillating show by lighting the lamp in presence of the Chairman of the School, Brigadier Narinder Khroud, Inderjeet Kour, Vice President FWO, and the Principal of the School Anu Jandial. Brigadier J S Rajpurohit, Deputy General Officer Commanding, Tiger Division, Manohar Rajpurohit, Vice President FWO, Senior Army Officers, Principals of various Army Public Schools of Jammu region and the parents of the students were present on the occasion.
Commencing with Shiv Stuti invoking the blessings of Lord Shiva the show moved on to convey the message “Peace is the way, peace is the key, for a better world” presented by the students of Class I. The students of class VII portrayed changing face of Independence. The medley of dancing trends presented by the students of class II was mesmerising. Ballet on famous war scene of Kalinga that changed Great Ashoka was beautifully portrayed by the students of class V to convey that there is no victory in war while the peace is always the winning factor. The valour of Army aptly depicted by the students of class VI received thunderous applause.
Grand finale of the cultural bonanza was no other than the high pitched fascinating Bhangra by the boys and girls of class XI, which electrified the entire atmosphere with melodious music, beautiful faces and acrobatic actions of the artists.
Brigadier Narinder Khroud in his address complimented the Principal, Anu Jandial, Staff and students for the colourful show.
The item ‘audacious brave hearts’ depicting loyalty, selfless service, commitment towards duty and integrity of Indian Army personnel presented by the students of class VI bagged the first prize.
The achievers and toppers were felicitated by the chief guest and other dignitaries.
