POONCH, Nov 1: On the third day of 26th District Table Tennis Championship, Anuj bagged the Sub Junior title, defeating Safwan by 11-9 and 11-6.
Earlier, in the first round of men’s singles, Salil Raina beat Dalip Singh by 1-8,11-9, Wajid trounced Shafeeq 1by 1-8,11-7, Vaishav got better of Marshall by 11-7,11-4, Anuj drubbed Imran by 11-2,11-9, Sandeep defeated Bhopinder by 11-7,11-9, Rachit prevailed over Safwan by 11-8,11-8, Propkar beat Mighty by 11-9,11-8, Jagjit thrashed Jimmy by 11-9,11-6. Vaishav defeated Gagan by 11-8,11-8 and Propkar outclassed Rachit by 11-9,12-10.
In the first quarterfinal, Salil Raina trounced Hasan by 11-7,11-9, while in second quarterfinal Faisal defeated Wajid by 11-9,11-9. In third quarterfinal, Vaishav prevailed over Marshal and in fourth quarterfinal Sandeep drubbed Propkar by 11-9,11-9.
Meanwhile, Er Saleem Bandey informed that the matches of Junior Singles final, Men’s Doubles and Veteran Singles will be played tomorrow and the final match of the championship will be held on November 5, 2016.
