JAMMU, Apr 10: Anshuman’s 65 runs and Raman Dutta’s 3 wickets haul guided Kishan Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) to register a huge victory of 54 runs over Challenger Cricket Club and to lift the title trophy of the Northern Railway T-20 Cup, being played at railway ground, here today.
Batting first, after winning the toss, KCCC chipped in 199 runs for the loss of just 3 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Anshuman Sharma played well, chipped in some crispy shots and made 65 runs, while Dhruv Mahajan also contributed 50 runs in just 28 balls. Bandeep Singh and Shashi Kumar also made 30 and 20 runs respectively.
For Challenger Cricket Club side, Jatinder was pick of the bowler with 3 wickets.
In the second inning, Challenger Cricket Club failed to chase the target and bundled out at 145 runs for all out. Jatin chipped in 69 runs, while Rahul Bhat and Sahil Bhalwal made 28 and 13 runs respectively.
For KCCC side, Raman Dutta was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 3 wickets, while Dhruv Mahajan pocketed 2 wickets. Somya Jain and Akash took one wicket apiece.
Dhruv Mahajan was awarded man of the match vis-à-vis man of the series.
During prize distribution function, Devinder Rana, provincial president, National Conference and Member Legislative Assembly (MLC) was the chief guest, who awarded cash prize of Rs 16,000 to the winning team and Rs 8,000 to runner-up team. He also presented individual prizes and trophies among the players of the winning team.
