Annual Day celebrated by Army Goodwill School Sopore

Sopore, Dec 10: Army Goodwill School, Sopore organised its Annual Day celebrations.
The event was witnessed by Maj Gen Asit Mistry, SM, VSM, GOC CIF (K) who was the chief guest and a host of other military and civilian dignitaries.
The event started with a welcome speech by the Principal in which she read out the school’s annual report highlighting the prominent achievements of the school during the academic year in scholastic and co-scholastic areas and reiterated the importance of parental engagement for the overall development of their wards.
The grand cultural bonanza enthralled the parents. The pre-schoolers swayed to catchy tunes which was followed by a group dance by the primary and middle school girls on ‘Desh Rangila’. The students then performed various folk dances like Kashmiri Folk Dance, Gidda and Bhangra which left the audience absolutely spellbound. The Chief Guest alongwith his wife Mira Mistry presented awards to the young achievers.  Gandhi House was declared as the best house for the academic year 2014-15.
Appreciating the conducive learning environment and excellent infrastructure of the school, the chief guest addressed the gathering and the parents and felicitated them for promoting an environment conducive for education and motivating their wards.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the chairman, Sector Commander Watlab followed by the National Anthem and tea  with the parents.
