JAMMU, Mar 24: Senior leader National Conference and Member BCCI, Ankush Abrol inaugurated 2nd Holi Cup T20 Cricket Tournament in an impressive and well attended function at Mandal Cricket ground, here.
The Tournament is being organised by Civil Society Mandal, under the supervision of Subash Sharma, Sarpanch Mandal, who was the guest of honour on the occasion. Sarpanch Gangyal, Rakesh Singh Bhau and Rajesh Dhar were also guests of honour on the occasion.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Vijay Sharma, Arun Dogra, Shashi Paul, Sunil Kumar, Sachin Singh and Mukesh Sharma.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest, Mr Abrol said that the objective of the Tournament is to involve more and more youth in sports activities to say no to drugs, besides promoting cricket in nooks and corners of the State.
In the inaugural match, KC Sports Club defeated Abrar Cricket Club by 6 wickets. Batting first, Abrar Cricket Club scored a decent total of 180 run in the stipulated 20 overs. Puneet Kumar top scored with quick-fire 45 runs, while Satish Kumar and Deepak Dogra contributed 34 and 26 runs to the total respectively. For KC Sports Club, Ajay, Abhishant Bakshi and Ishant Gupta bagged 2 wickets each, while skipper Arjun Choudhary claimed one wicket.
In reply, KCSC chased the target in 18.3 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Suryansh Raina was the top scorer with brilliant 70 runs, while Karan Bhat and Abhishant Bakshi contributed power-packed 42 and 34 runs to the total respectively. For Abrar Club, Deepak, Satish and Puneet Kumar claimed one wicket each.
Bablu Kumar and Virender Singh were the umpires, while Rajkumar was the scorer and Sohan Bharti was the commentator.
