JAMMU, Sept 3: Ankita and Tamanna of KV No. 1 Chamera secured first position in under-17 and under-19 categories in the 1500 meter event respectively, during the ongoing 43rd Regional Athletic Meet (girls), being held at KV No. 2, Jammu Cantt.
In 400 meter and 200 meter, first position was bagged by Shivangi Verma of KV No. 1, Amritsar.
In under 17, the first position went to Ankita of KV No 1, Chamera in 1500 meter and 800 meter, while, in 400 meters, the trophy was claimed by Sapna Tiwari of KV No 1.
In under 14 category, first position was secured by Vandana of KV No. 2 Udhampur in 600 meter and 400 meter, whereas, in 200 meter, Nitu of KV No. 1 Amritsar bagged first position.
In Shot-Put, under 17 category, the first position was claimed by Mumtaz Bano of KV No. 1 Akhnoor, whereas, in under 14 years, the first position was pocketed by Deepali of Tibri Cantt.
Earlier, the athletic meet was inaugurated by Prof Dhian Singh Bhau, Director, Department of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, in presence of Colonel CR Reddy, Nominee Chairman, VMC, KV No. 2, Ramesh Sharma, M Laxmi Narayana, Principal, Kamini Mishra, Vice Principal, faculty members and students.
