JAMMU, July 31: Ace Chess Player, Arushi Kotwal was honoured by All J&K Chess Association for winning silver medal in Rapid format of Asian School Chess Championship 2018 in Under-17 girls’ category in Sri Lanka.
She also got two silver medals in team event in classical and blitz and bronze in team rapid. Team medals were considered and given on the basis of the points scored by players of each country in Individual event of each format.
She participated in 5 events continuously which required remarkable stamina.
She also played well in Commonwealth at New Delhi and got 5th position in Under-14 age category, besides getting 15th position in National sub junior at Kolkata.
It is pertinent to mention here that seven years ago, Arushi had won gold medal in Under-7 category in main event and in Under-9 category in rapid format of Asian School Chess Championship.
