LEH, Mar 6: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Ladakh, S S Khandare inaugurated 7th CEC Archery Tournament, 2021 at Sports Stadium Zanskar, here today.
Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Zanksar Tsewang Rigzin, SHO Zanskar Jigmath Singhay, presidents of Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) Zanskar, LBA Youth Wing, Zanskar Gonpa Association and Zanskar Muslim Association were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADGP Ladakh stressed on the Archers to make concerted efforts to preserve their culture and strive to excel in this sports. He also announced that in near future, a tournament titled Police Public Archery Tournament will be organized every year.
Meanwhile, joint delegations of Buddhist and Muslim Associations called on the ADGP and submitted their respective memorandums.
The ADGP while giving a patient hearing to all demands and issues projected by the delegations and assured them of suitable follow up.
Later, the ADGP Ladakh also inspected the Police Station Padum Zanskar and interacted with police personnel there.
The ADGP was accompanied by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sonam Dachen and other concerned officers.
Pertinently, 68 teams across Zanskar Sub Division are participating in the tournament.
