JAMMU, Apr 5: NCC Unit of Govt SPMR College of Commerce welcomed Additional Director General, National Cadet Corps, Maj. General Nalindera Kumar who visited the College for an interactive session and on the spot assessment of NCC activities being held in the College.
He was accompanied by Group commander Brig. Sanjay Kadian & Commanding Officer 2nd J&K Boys BN Col. Karam Din.
The NCC Cadets presented the Guard of honour to the visiting guest.
While interacting with the cadets, the visiting officer evoked responses from the cadets relating to the NCC Campus and their participation in the Republic day Parade. The cadets replied his queries well.
The Principal of the College Prof (Dr) PK Sharma welcomed the chief guest and highlighted the need for enhancement of enrolment of NCC cadets in the College. Further he laid stress on the need of NCC for inculcating discipline, unity and leadership amongst the cadets for bright future of the nation and act as role model in the institutions.
Prof. (Lt) Savita Jamwal, made an in detail presentation about the performance of the cadets in various spheres.
The Chief Guest interacted with the staff and cadets and laid stress on the adoption of areas within two kms of the College campus for spreading awareness about Swatch Bharat Abhiyan, traffic rules and general awareness regarding upkeep of lanes and by lanes in their locality.
He also spoke about the positive change that the youth can bring in the society and country at large if their energies are channelized in the right direction.
