JAMMU, Aug 26: After Abhishek Pathania, Sohail Khalid, Sharan Dev Singh, Abhi Gupta, Jaswinder Singh and Ishuk Chowdhary made it to quarterfinals of the ongoing 1st Jammu District Open 6 Red Ball Championship, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Billiards and Snooker Association (JKBSA), at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here today.
In the first pre-quarterfinal match played today, Sohail Khalid defeated Furkan Wani by straight 3-0 frames. Sohail registered win in all the three frames by 33-11, 45-25 and 29-14.
Sharan Dev Singh registered win over Vishal Abrol by 3-1 frames in the second pre-quarterfinal match. Vishal made a good start by winning the opening frame by 39-10, but Sharan displayed his skills and equalized the game by winning the second frame by 52-33. Sharan continued the winning pace in the third and fourth frames by 40-131 and 27-22 and crushed Vishal Abrol out from the tournament.
In the third pre-quarterfinal match, Abhi Gupta outplayed Rizwan by 3-1 frames. The opening frame was won by Rizwan by 34-20, but failed to win the next three frames, which were won by Abhi by 36-28, 43-11 and 22-11.
Sourav Dogra lost to Jaswinder Singh in the fourth pre-quarterfinal by 3-1 frames. Jaswinder registered win in the first frame by 32-10 and also won the second frame by 36-11. The third frame was won by Sourav by 28-15, but failed to won the fourth frame, which was won by Jaswinder by 31-24.
In the last and fifth pre-quarterfinal match, Ishuk Chowdhary outplayed Gangandeep by straight 3-0 frames with the score of 24-16, 37-18 and 40-19.
