PG Arts, MAM College log wins

JAMMU, Jan 22: PG Arts and MAM College scripted emphatic victories over their rivals to stay alive in the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Men’s Cricket Tournament, being organized by the University of Jammu at Varsity grounds, here.
Earlier, in the first match, MAM College defeated GDC Bishnah by a huge margin of 92 runs. Batting first, MAM College scored 147 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Varinder Singh top scored with 42 runs, while Rahul Kumar contributed 39 runs to the total. For GDC Bishnah, Amandeep and Raman calimed 2 wickets each, while Sahil, Pankaj and Sahan Lal picked one wicket apiece.
In reply, GDC Bishnah bundled out for a paltry total of 55 runs in 14.4 overs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 92 runs. Amandeep (17) and Surinder (13) were the main contributors. Syad Ziyafat and Abhimanyu Gupta bagged 3 wickets each for MAM College, while Gurveer Singh and Mohd Nisar claimed one wicket each.
The match was officiated by Raman Kumar and Amit Gupta as umpires, while Manu Khajuria was the scorer.
In another match, PG Arts drubbed New Age College by 77 runs in an easy contest. Bating first, PG Arts scored a mammoth total of 182 runs in the stipulated overs. Sunil Sharma scored brilliant 67 runs of 40 balls, which included 10 fours and 2 sixes, while Rahul and Sajad Ali contributed 18 and 19 runs respectively. For New Age College, Rakesh Singh bagged 2 wickets, while Arun Sharma, Himanshu and Kazal Rajput claimed one wicket each.
In reply, New Age College managed to score 105 runs in the stipulated 20 overs by losing 8 wickets, thus lost the match by 77 runs. Rakesh Singh top scored with 24 runs, while Dharam Paul contributed 16 runs to the total. Ajay Singh and Mukhtar Singh chipped in with 13 runs each. For PG Arts, Rahul and Sukhvinder Singh took 2 wickets each, while Rajinder Sharma and Dilawar Singh claimed one wicket each.
The match was officiated by Raman Kumar and Saleem-ur-Rehman as umpires, while Manu Khajuria acted as scorer.
