JAMMU, July 1: In a suit filed by J&K Olympic Association through its General Secretary Prof Dr Ashutosh Sharma, son of Prof Jai Dev Sharma against Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council through its Secretary, the Court of City Judge Jammu has stayed some of the decisions taken in 132nd Standing Committee Meeting of Sports Council and also its proposal of making Adhoc Body of J&K Olympic Association.
The Court has restrained the State Sports Council from fixing the dates, venues for election of office bearers of the recognized State Sports Associations as per Item 132.10 Page-7 of the minutes of the Meeting, besides restraining the Council from making Adhoc Body decided in the same meeting notification No. SC/634/2391-99 dated 16.06.2017, declaring the same as illegal.
“In order to protect the plaintiff from irreparable loss/injury and in order to preserve the suit property, the impugned decision taken by the defendant/non-applicant in 132nd Meeting of Standing Committee of J&K State Sports Council held on 15.05.2017, with respect to item No. 132.10 and on the proposal of making adhoc body of J&K Olympic Association decided in the same Meeting and Notification No. SC/634/2391-99 dated 16.06.2017, is here by stayed till next date of hearing. This order shall, however, be subject to the objections from the other side.” City Judge said.
