LEH, June 14: Ladakh accorded a rousing reception to the three everesters at their arrival here today.
The everesters, who successfully scaled the Mount Everest recently in two separate teams includes Stanzin Laskit from Ney, Tashi Laskit from Stok, Rigzin Dolkar from Nobra and Tsering Angmo from Zanskar.
Ney village organized a programme at Culture Academy Hall where heads of political parties, SSP Tsering Gyalpo, Culture Academy Officer Tsewang Paljor, LBA Women President Tsewang Dolma, Zanskar Welfare society representatives, Martselang Councillor Jamgyang Tsering Namgyal, Ney Sarpanch Tsering Angchok, Stok Sarpanch Tsewang Nurbo, Panchayat Coordination Committee Chairman Tashi Chepel and other distinguished guests were present to felicitate them with Khataks.
Addressing the gathering, all speakers expressed their dismay over non-participation of district administration in the programme and added that these achievers must be encouraged and suitably given recognition to encourage other sports lovers.
