JAMMU, Aug 27: Jodhamal Public School held mystical Bharatnatyam performance by Padamshree Geeta Chandran in collaboration with Spic Macay, here today.
Padamshree Geeta Chandran, who has been trained by Bharatnatyam gurus namely Swarna Saraswathy, Guru K.N Dakshinamurthi Pillai, gave a scintillating performance, enthralling one and all.
Other artists accompanying her included Guru S Shankar on Mirdangam, S Venkateshwaran on Vocals, Rohit Prasanna on Flute and Radhika, her disciple on Natluvangam.
Sapna Sangra and Seema Rohmetra, State Coordinator of Spic Macay were also present.
The musical and dancing bonanza began with auspicious lighting of lamp, where school’s Trustee Nandan Kuthialaand Principal, Trilok Singh Bist escorted the dancers on stage.
Padamshree Chandran performed many enthralling performances on Mirabhai’s rhyms and explained the symbolism of Natraja to the students.
The Tandava performance was the most breathtaking.
During concluding ceremony some Jodhamal students were called on stage to receive tips of dancing.
