Chib lifts Men’s Singles title in Friends Lawn Tennis C’ship

JAMMU, June 28: Deepak Singh Chib thrashed Amar Jyoti Sharma by straight 2-0 sets and lifted Men’s Singles title during Friends Lawn Tennis Championship, which concluded today at MA Stadium here.
Deepak Singh Chib defeated Amar Jyoti Sharma by 6-4 and 6-2 points and registered win in Men’s Singles.
Meanwhile, in U-14 boys, Aryaman Wazir crushed Bhavaya with 2-0 sets and the score remained 4-2 and 4-2.
In U-14 girls, Pawanpreet trounced Akshaya by 4-2 and 4-2 points (2-0 sets) and in U-18 boys, Ishan Singh smashed Aryaman Wazir by 2-0 sets with 6-3 and 6-4 points.
On the valedictory function, Prinkle Singh, India’s Number 2 Lawn Tennis player in U-14, who is going to play Wimbeldon in August this year, was the chief guest on the occasion and presented awards to the winners alongwith of Ranjeet Singh, Assistant Commissioner, Jammu, who was guest of honour.
The championship was organized by Friends Lawn Tennis Club under the supervision of Vinod, Rohit and Ajay.
