U-19 football, basketball competitions get underway

JAMMU, Aug 24: District Level Inter-School competitions in the disciplines of football Under-19 boys and basketball Under-19 girls’ got underway, here today.
The competitions are being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports as part of Annual Calendar of Activities, under the patronoge of Navin Agarwal, Director General Youth Services and Sports and under the chairmanship of Ved Parkash, Deputy Director Jammu. Sukhdev Raj, DYSSO Jammu is the organizing secretary.
In football quarterfinals, DBN beat SRML by (2-0) goals. Bikram and Raghav were goal scorers; Jodhamal outplayed APS Miran Sahib by (1-0). Jagjot Singh was the goal scorer; MHAC Nagbani defeated Springdales by (3-0). Shivam and Hitesh were the performers and APS Domana beat SOS by (2-0) goals.
Earlier, Jodhamal beat MIER by (2-0) goals. Ahmed Zia and Rudraksh were the goal scorers; APS Miran Sahib beat DBN by (4-3) goals via tie-breaker; MHAC Nagbani drubbed Vidya Peeth by (2-0) goals. Shivam and Vishav were the goal scorer; SOS beat DPS by (4-2) goals via tie-breaker and DBM Amarvilla got better of Maharishi Vidya Mandir by (3-1) goals. Ishan Gupta and Vikram were the goal scorers.
Meanwhile, in the basketball final, Nagbani beat KCP by (28-23) points, with Simran being the star performer.
In the semifinals, MHAC Nagbani beat HSS Mubarak Mandi by (12-4) points, while KC Public School got better of APS Domana by (8-4) points.
In other matches of the day, KC Public beat Presentation Convent by (8-7) points, APS Domana defeated MIER by (16-14) points and KCPS beat Jodhamal by (10-8) points.
The matches were officiated by Vishal, Vaneet, Rajesh Bandral, Amit Kalsi Dheeraj, Bhart Bhushan, Ajay Kumar and Joginder Singh.
