POONCH, Nov 23: The Krishna Ghati Premier League (KGPL) 2025-26, organized by Krishna Ghati Brigade under the Ace of Spades Division, concluded with a spectacular grand finale at the Sports Ground, Jhullas, here. The tournament featured 26 teams from Poonch, Mendhar, Surankote and Mandi, making it a major sporting event in the region.
The finale was graced by Lieutenant General PK Mishra, General Officer Commanding, White Knight Corps, as chief guest, who praised the initiative for promoting discipline, teamwork, leadership and national integration among border-area youth. Brigadier Amit, Commander Krishna Ghati 10th Brigade, also lauded the event and the overwhelming participation.
The tournament offered prizes worth Rs 8 lakh and achieved a digital milestone of over 13.52 crore online viewership. In the thrilling final, LOC Cricket Club Poonch defeated Panjal Warriors by 14 runs in the final, with Sajjad Shaikh earning the Man of the Match award. KGPL 2025-26 reinforced the Indian Army’s commitment to youth empowerment, community engagement, and fostering a strong sporting culture in border regions.
