SAMBA, July 10: Army Public School Samba hosted a one-day workshop on Bloom’s Taxonomy, aimed at empowering educators with advanced tools for effective lesson planning, assessment design and enhanced classroom engagement.
The workshop brought together teachers from various disciplines, focusing on the practical application of Bloom’s Taxonomy to foster higher-order thinking skills in students. The session opened with an insightful keynote address by Seema Abrol, a noted expert in educational psychology and curriculum development. She emphasized the need to integrate Bloom’s six cognitive domains — Remember, Understand, Apply, Analyze, Evaluate and Create — into daily instruction.
Through interactive discussions, hands-on lesson planning and group activities, teachers explored ways to frame precise learning objectives, create competency-based assessments and tailor instruction to diverse student needs. Collaborative exercises encouraged peer-to-peer learning and sharing of best practices.
Sanjeev Pradhan, Principal of APS Samba, commended the initiative, stating, “Workshops like these are instrumental in enhancing the professional competencies of our teachers. Bloom’s Taxonomy provides a structured approach to teaching that ensures conceptual clarity and critical thinking.”
