Kulgam drubs Ramban to lift U-14 boys volleyball title

JAMMU, June 9: District Kulgam got better of District Ramban by two sets to one (2-1) in the summit clash and lifted the title trophy in the State Level Inter-District Under-14 Boys Volleyball Tournament, which concluded at Government Higher Secondary School Ground, Akhnoor today.
Earlier, in the title clash, Kulgam prevailed over Ramban by (2-1). Despite losing the first set in a close contest by (23-15), Kulgam boys came back strongly and won the other two sets easily by (25-19 and 15-12 to emerge victorious.
Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma was the chief guest on the concluding function, who later-on distributed the medals and trophies among the winners and runners-up teams.
The Tournament was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports as part of Annual Calendar of Activities of the Department, under the patronage of Navin Agarwal, Director General Youth Services and Sports, J&K.
While addressing the participants, Sharma said that winning and losing is the part of game but it is the participation which matters the most.
He said that physical education is the way towards the development of the human personality.
