JAMMU, Dec 4: Sainik School Nagrota marked a momentous occasion on Indian Navy Day with the inauguration of several key facilities by Major General Shailendra Singh, Chief of Staff Headquarters 16 Corps and Chairman, Local Board of Administration.
The event began with Maj Gen Singh paying homage to martyrs at the Shaurya Smarak. He then inaugurated ‘LAKSHYA’, the NDA Training Cell, equipped with modern resources to prepare cadets for the NDA exam through workshops, guest lectures, and guided training.
Also unveiled were an Extended Academic Block, housing essential offices like those of the Vice Principal, Senior Master, and NCC Office, and re-laid internal roads enhancing campus connectivity.
Addressing staff and cadets, the General praised the school’s efforts in grooming future leaders for the Armed Forces. He extended his best wishes to 21 cadets gearing up for SSB interviews.
Principal Capt (IN) Shibu Devasia welcomed the chief guest and highlighted the school’s commitment to excellence. A cake-cutting ceremony celebrated Navy Day, symbolizing tribute to the Indian Navy’s valour.
The event concluded with an interactive session where Major General Singh inspired cadets to strive for excellence. The day underscored Sainik School Nagrota’s dedication to shaping patriotic, disciplined and confident leaders.
