Jammu Adventure Sports Club holds 17th Annual Cycle Rally

JAMMU, Apr 20: The Jammu Adventure Sports Club held its 17th Annual Cycle Rally, here today. The Rally was flagged off by Sati Sahni in presence of Chairman of the Club, Sandiip A Sethi at 6:30 am from Bahu Plaza and ended at Sports Council ground opposite Green Fields School Gandhinagar.
Children drawn from various schools enthusiastically participated in the rally, spreading the message of this year’s rally slogan ‘Go Green- Plant a Tree’.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest IGP Jammu, Rajesh Kumar lauded the efforts of the Club and it’s members in creating awareness on environmental issues and expressed his complete support for the club’s endeavors.
Ajit Kumar Sahu District Commissioner, Jammu addressed the children with his son also being an enthusiastic participant. He complimented the Club members for their good work.
Earlier, in his welcome address at the prize distribution ceremony at Green Fields, the Chairman of the Club Sandiip A Sethi spoke about the club’s effort since its inception in 1997 towards its objectives which included inculcating spirit of adventure, protecting cultural heritage and conserving environment.
The 1st prize of Cycle sponsored by Sehaj Gulhati of National Fiat was won by Santeshwar of Jodhamal Public School and 2nd prize of wrist watch sponsored by Manmohan Wahi was won by Sukhbeer Singh of New Era Mother High School.
Various cash prizes of Rs 1000 by Nitco Roadways,               Rs 3,300 by the Club and 20 gifts by Tiny Tots High School were announced.
The general secretary of the Club presented vote of thanks.
