2nd Christmas Gold Cup

JAMMU, Dec 2: Trouncing their rivals convincingly in the semi-final matches, Gorkha Cricket Club and Diamond Cricket Club will lock horns against each other for the title in the ongoing 2nd Christmas Gold Cup Cricket Tournament at MA Stadium, here tomorrow.
The tournament is being organised by All J&K Sports and Cultural Welfare Association and sponsored by KIS Sameer Sports and ATP Supplements.
The first semi-final match was played between Gorkha Cricket Club and Noor XI wherein Noor XI won the toss and elected to field first.
Batting first, Gorkha CC scored 143 by losing 6 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Nikhil made 58 runs, while Ajay Rana scored 26 runs and Rahul contributed 18 runs. From the bowling side, Aadil Tantray took 2 wickets.
In reply, Noor XI bundled out at 82 runs in 15.4 overs wherein Lone was the single player who scored 35 runs. From the bowling side, Ashu and Ajay Rana took 3 wickets each. Ajay Rana was declared as man of the match for his outstanding performance.
The 2nd semi-final match was played between Diamond Cricket Club and Bhalessa Cricket Club
Batting first, Diamond Cricket Club made 102 runs with loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs wherein Ishfaq Amin scored 21 runs, while Asif made 15 runs. From the bowling side, Maninderpal Singh and Sanjog Paul Singh took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Diamond Cricket Club chased the target by losing only 6 wickets in 15.1 overs and won the match by 4 wickets. Tanveer Singh scored 30 runs, while Jahanveer Singh scored 16 runs and Rajan Singh contributed 12 runs. From the bowling side, Ishfaq Amin was the wrecker-in- chief who took 4 wickets.
Maninderpal Singh was declared as man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Dinesh Kumar, Amit Gill and Sebastian, while Yousaf Don, Sebastian, David Masih, Vijay Kumar and Anil Masoom were among the organisers of the tournament.
