AKHNOOR, July 8: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) XI registered a narrow win by 2 wickets over Street Warrior Akhnoor in the semifinal to qualify for the finals of the ongoing 5th Pawan Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor at Government Higher Secondary School, here.
Batting first, Street Warriors scored a fighting total of 158 runs in the stipulated 20 overs by losing 9 wickets. Amit Singh was the top scorer with 53 runs, while Amit and Deepak Singh contributed 19 runs each. For JKP XI, Majid, Sheetal and Ashwani bagged 2 wickets each, while Shivdutt and Rajesh Gill claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, JKP XI achieved the target in 19 overs by losing 8 wickets to win the match by 2 wickets. Arvind scored brilliant 51 runs, while Nishant and Sheetal contributed 43 and 22 runs to the total respectively. For Street Warriors, Amit Singh bagged 3 wickets, while Roshi and Banu claimed 2 wickets each. Arvind of JKP XI was adjudged man of the match.
The match was officiated by Vikas Bali and Sonu Malhotra as umpires, while Ajay Bhagat was the scorer.
