JAMMU, Dec 22: KC Public School hosted collaborative project virtually for Round Square affiliated schools of South Asia and Gulf region on the theme ‘World Folk Art’ for students between grade 6th to 8th.
Around 45 students including some participants from across the world participated. The schools apart from South Asia and Gulf region were Latymer Upper School London, Klosterschule Rossleben, Germany and Shirakatsy Lyceum School, Armenia.
Each of the participating schools created and submitted five paintings based on folk art traditions including at least two paintings based on art traditions of countries other than their own. All the paintings were meticulously crafted and were a veritable feast for the eyes. These paintings were then artfully arranged into a virtual ‘3D Art Exhibition’ and a picture album by students of KCPS.
The art exhibition and picture album created by the students have been uploaded on the net with the purpose of sharing them not only with participating schools, but also with the general public globally.
The objective of the project was to promote interest in the history of world Folk Art and instil in students a sense of inquisitiveness to learn more about cultural and historical heritage of the peoples of the world, enhance their creativity and aesthetic sensibility, and to give them insight into the revival of traditions, rituals, celebrations and customs of people of the world.
