9th J&K State sr Indian Style Wrestling C’ship from Mar 29

JAMMU, Mar 226: A meeting of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association was held at Hotel India Pride Jammu under the chairmanship of President of Association, who is also joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council and Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, Shiv Kumar Sharma.
During the meeting, General Secretary of the Association, Bansi Lal Tidyal informed that J&K State Sports Council has been sanctioned Rs 1, 25,000 (Rupees One Lac and twenty-five only).
It was decided in the meeting that 9th J&K State Senior Indian Style Wrestling Championship for men 2016-17 will be held at Dewan Mandir Akhara, Jammu on March 29, 2017, under the supervision of chairman of the Association, Prem Choudhary in which the teams of the Districts Kathua, Samba, Poonch, Udhampur, Jammu, Reasi, Rajouri, Anantnag, Ganderbal, Srinagar, and J&K Police are participating.
Director competition and NIS Wrestling coach Mulkh Raj Sharma said the Weighing in the Wrestlers will start from 9 am to 10.30 am on March 29 at Dewan Mandir Akhara Jammu and the competition will start from 11 am to onwards under the overall supervision of President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
Mr Sharma said the weight categories are 50Kgs, 55Kgs, 61Kgs, 67Kgs, 75Kgs, 85Kgs and +85Kgs upto 120Kgs.The championship shall be conducted according to the new guidelines issued by Indian Style Wrestling Association of India (National Federation).
