LEH, Jan 11: Ice Hockey Association of India (ICAI) is going to organise five days 6th Natinal Ice Hockey Championship from January 27 to 31 at Ladakh Scouts Regiment Centre Ice Rink, here.
All affiliated units of IHAI – UT or State, Services or Police Sports Control Boards or desirous units affiliation with IHAI will be allowed to field a team in compliance with the ‘National Sports Code of Government of India’. “No Clubs would be eligible for participation, players can apply to IHAI for transfer to other state unit team by January 15 and LSRC will help IHAI in organizing the event,” the handout read.
The championship will follow the rules laid by IIHF for Ice Hockey (refer the updated IIHF official rule book), all travel, local conveyance and stay with F&B are to be managed by the Affiliate Member / State Units / Institutional Sports boards / Organization for their respective team.
Each team will be allowed to field a minimum of 15 players plus two Goalkeepers and maximum 18 players plus two Goalkeepers (18+2), besides affiliate unit will submit only one team and pay a participation fee of Rs10,000 per team by January 25 at Administrative office of IHAI along with the fee or by email to icehockeyindia@gmail.com. The minimum age for participation is 14 years (all players born before 01/01/2007).
