JAMMU, Sept 10: Two days 5th UT level Kalaripayattu Championship, organized by Kalaripayattu Association of J&K, concluded at Carmel Convent Higher Secondary School, here today.
More than 400 players from the different districts of J&K including Jammu, Rajouri, Kathua, Samba, Reasi, Srinagar, Ganderbal, Budgam, Bandipora, Kupwara, Udhampur, Kishtwar, Doda, Baramulla, Anantnag and Kulgam participated in the championship with great zeal and enthusiasm.
Gul-e-Surkhab, senior vice president of the Association was the chief guest for the event, while Senior Maria Swati, Principal (Carmel Convent School), Pankaj Dutta-Powerlifting Coach , Farooq Ahmed Dar- MD Mughal Darbar and Kashmir Flavour, Tarsem Sharma, Arshad Aziz, Shabir Ahmad Lone and Dr Navneet Gupta were special guests of the event.
The president congratulated office bearers of the Association for organizing UT level championship and providing a platform to the youth, so that they channelized their energy towards sports. She also appreciated the work being done by the Association in the field of Kalaripayattu.
The championship was conducted under the supervision of Danish Sharma-general secretary.
