JAMMU, Aug 7: A 2-day 4th District Level Science Exhibition-2014 under INSPIRE Award Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Science and Technology, organized by District Institute of Education and Trainings (DIET), Jammu commenced at Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, here today.
As many as 130 Science models from District Jammu and 11 Science Models from District Udhampur are being displayed at the Science Exhibition.
Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) is a National Programme implemented by the Ministry of Science and Technology, for attraction of talent amongst students to study Science and Pursue career with Research. INSPIRE Awards cover school children in the age group of 10 to 16 years.
The Joint Director (Elementary Education) DSE Jammu, Saif Ali inaugurated the Exhibition and inspected the Science models displayed by the students.
Speaking on the occasion, he impressed upon the students to develop scientific temper for progress and prosperity of the country in the present era of Science and Technology.
Among others, Field Advisior SIE, S K Raina; I/c Principal DIET Jammu, RL Gupta; Principal DIET Kud, J M Tharmath; Principal GHSS Shastri Nagar, Farida Javed and Principal HSS Gandhi Nagar, Tahira Parveen were also present on the occasion.
