JAMMU, Oct 1: The 36th Sub-Junior (Boys & Girls) National Tenni-Koit Championship 2024 continued on its second day at the Green Field Playground in Jammu. Organized by the J&K Tenni-Koit Association under the auspices of the Tenni-Koit Federation of India and in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, the event features enthusiastic participation from various states across India.
Islam Khan, Assistant Commissioner at KVS Regional Office Jammu, served as the chief guest, while Mohd Hanief, Chief Sports Officer of J&K Sports Council, was the guest of honour. The chief guest praised the organizers for hosting the championship, emphasizing its role in cultural exchange and providing an opportunity for players from different states to learn about Jammu’s rich culture. Rajiv Sharma, President of the Tenni-Koit Federation of India, was also present, ensuring necessary facilities for participating teams and coaches.
In the matches, Kerala, Telangana, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Karnataka, and Puducherry secured victories yesterday while Tamil Nadu, Odisha, West Bengal, Puducherry, and Karnataka continued their winning streak today. In the quarter-finals, Karnataka, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh emerged victorious in the girls’ category, while Maharashtra defeated Telangana in the boys’ quarter-finals. The championship continues to attract talented young players, showcasing their skills and fostering sportsmanship among participants.
