3-day National Rhythmic Gymnastics Judging Course begins at JU

JAMMU, May 2: The three day National Judging Course in Rhythmic Gymnastics organized by Jammu and Kashmir Gymnastics Association under the aegis of Gymnastics Federation of India for the cycle 2013-2016 got underway at University of Jammu, here today.
The Course is being conducted to upgrade the Judges Brevet and for the freshers after every Olympic Year and the course is conducted as per the Guidelines, Rules and Regulations of the International Gymnastics Federation ( FIG).
Over forty participants from different states of the country are participating in the course, which is being conducted by Krupali Patel Singh, Arjuna Awardee and FIG Qualified International Judge who has been nominated as Course Expert by the Gymnastics Federation of India.
At the inaugural function held at the committee room of the Jammu University, Dean Academic Affairs University of Jammu, Prof Neelam Saraf was the chief guest, while Registrar Prof Naresh Padha was the guest of honour.
Ranjeet Kalra, Assistant Director Academic Staff College, University of Jammu presented welcome address, while Ajit Singh Wazir, secretary J&K Gymnastics association and Vice president Gymnastics Federation of India expressed his gratitude to the university authorities for extending logistic support for the conduct of the course.
Savita Marathe, India’s only Level II international judge in Women Artistic Gymnastics was specially honoured on the occasion.
The course will conclude on May 4 and the trials for the selection of the National team shall be conducted at the M A stadium Jammu the next day.
