LEH: Jan 9: 2nd Annual Archery Championship was organised at Nawang Dorjey Stobdan Memorial Park, here.
Eighteen archery teams from various villages including each team of male and female from Pagir participated in the event.
The Vice President, Ladakh Buddhist Association, PT Kunzang was the chief guest on the occasion while as Councilor Rinchen Lhamo and President Ladakh Archery Association Rinchen Beshu were the guests of honour.
The speakers highly appreciated Pagir’s initiatives and vision in promoting traditional games in Ladakh that provided a great platform for the local youths to polish and progress in this field besides contributing a lot in preserving different forms cultural legacy of Ladakh.
PT Kunzang and President Pagir Mohd. Iqbal said that the objective of holding this competition was to provide an opportunity for specially abled people to participate in social events so that they may not feel a sense of inadequacy and dependence in the society, besides boosting traditional games, which have tremendous relevance in the life of Ladakhis.
