POONCH, Oct 7: Experi-enced Salil Raina today clinched the men’s singles title 22nd time of his career by defeating Gurjot Singh in a keenly contested match by (12-10, 11-9, 9-11, 9-11 and 12-10), here today.
While in men’s doubles, Gurjot and Marshall defeated Salil Raina and Saleem Bandey by 11-7,11-9,10-12,12-10. The veterans title was won by Riaz Ahmed who defeated Prof Jasbir Singh 12-10,12-10,8-11,11-9 and junior title was won by Propkar Singh. DDC Poonch Nisar Ahmed Wani was the chief guest on the occasion while SSP Poonch J.S Johar was the guest of honour.
Earlier, president District TT Association Poonch, Ajeet Singh Jeet presented a detailed report of the achievements of District T.T Association Poonch in promoting the game. Chief guest, DDC Poonch Nisar Ahmed Wani, while speaking on the occasion said that District Poonch is blessed with beautiful grounds and administration is happy to see huge talent in indoor games in Poonch District. He said that work on indoor sports complex will be completed soon to give those players who are playing indoor games a chance to honour their skills.
SSP Poonch JS Johwar was the guest of honour on the occasion.
