JAMMU, Aug 22: The 23rd Delhi State Inter-School Shooting Championship at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range concluded at Delhi, yesterday.
Organized by Delhi State Rifle Association, over 300 children from schools all over Delhi participated in the event.
Kiran Soni Gupta, Financial Advisor and Additional Secretary of the Union Sports Ministry, honoured the medal winners and also told these emerging shooters to get success.
She also threw light on the importance of games and sports.
Ritambhara Das, Ishita Malik, Namaya Kapoor, Mahima Singh, Vaishnavi Singh and Diya Mahajan won gold medals in girls’ events, while Pratyush Aman Barik, Angad Kohli, Yashwant Kumar, Shivanand Sagar, Dhruv Bhatia and Vishwajit Kumar won gold medal in boys category.
Kamakshi Kumar, Deeksha Mathur, Tejeshwari Rana, Parisha Gupta, Shreya Sharma, Aruni Shankar, Yash Jaggi, Jasvir Singh, Ishaan Vikas Jadhav, Samarveer Singh, Varshav Gupta, Pukhraj Chauhan won the silver medals, while Yash Upreti, Kabir Singh Dahiya, Shehzad Ali, Garvit Sehrawat, Prayas Kumar Dodhwal, Samarth Sharma, Saurav Jung, Heer Sharma, Dharani Sharma, Tanisha Dabodha, Asha Gaur, Nishita Sehrawat claimed bronze medals in their respective events.
With the conclusion of the Inter School Shooting, the Delhi State Shooting Championship began at this renowned Shooting Range, in which around one thousand shooters will try their skills and vie for the top honours, probably the highest ever participation in Delhi State Shooting Championship.
