POONCH, Feb 8: The 22nd UT Senior Kabaddi Championship 2025, organized by the Amateur Kabaddi Association J&K under the aegis of J&K Sports Council, has entered its final stage. The championship, which began on February 7, will conclude on Sunday with the much-awaited final matches.
The event was inaugurated by SDM Mendhar, Imran Rashid Kataria, in the presence of key figures including Kuldeep Sharma, Secretary of the J&K Kabaddi Association, Surinder Mohan, Technical Director of Yuva Kabaddi Series J&K and Ladakh, Shabnam Parvaiz, Vice Principal HSS Boys, and Mohd Rauf Naib Tehsildar Mankote. The three-day championship saw fierce competition from 22 teams-13 men’s teams and 9 women’s teams-representing various districts of J&K.
In the men’s category, the final will feature Army and J&K Police after both teams triumphed in their respective semi-final matches. The first semi-final saw Army defeating Team Jammu, while J&K Police overcame Poonch in the second semi-final. The women’s final will be contested between Jammu and Kathua, both teams securing their spot after strong performances in their semi-final matches.
