Two females emerge as podium finishers

JAMMU, Dec 18: Two female runners of Jammu Runners Group (JRG) brought laurels to the State by winning podium finishes in 21 km and 10 km categories of Tuffman Kasauli Hills Half Marathon, which was held on December 16 (Sunday) in Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh.
The event was kickstarted by Brigadier Vikram Sharma at 7 AM by flagging off the runners of 21 km category from Army Ground Kasuali, situated in the middle of Kasauli Hills, near Bus Stand, Kasuali. About 750 runners from across the Country participated in this Half Marathon, which was organized in four categories-20 km, 10 km, 5 km and 3 km.
Kritika Gandotra and Mrs Pawan Sharma from JRG defied these conditions and brought laurels once again for the State by winning two podium finishes in woman 10km and 21km category, respectively. Both Kritika and Pawan Sharma got 3rd rank in their respective categories.
Apart from this, Rajesh Padha once again made the State proud by becoming pacer for 21km and ambassador for the fourth time. As he is few among India’s veteran pacers, it is the pride moment for JRG when he was given 2 medals, one finisher and another for being a pacer.
Dilawer Khan was pacer in 10km category and ambassador also. Seven-years-old, Aaidah Nabi, a small little champ from Jammu, became Tuffgirl by running 3 km.
Besides this, 20 runners of JRG in different categories of 10km and 21km got finishers medals. While Sandeep Singh (ex-Ranji player), Sanjay Saini, Ajit Sharma, Mudasser, Sharat Sharma, Sarish Gupta, Anuj Malthora, Harinderpal Singh, Mukesh Kumar, Rakesh Sharma, Miss Rovleen Kour, VK Dogra, Anoop Sharma and Nakul Saraf got finishers medals in 21km, Abishiekh Gupta, Rajeshwer and Miss Himmat Sharma bagged finishers medals in 10 km category.
