2 State Karatekas qualify National Referees examination

JAMMU, Mar 1: Two Karatekas namely Umesh Rekhi from District Jammu and Rinku Sharma from District Rajouri of the State of Jammu and Kashmir have qualified National  Referees examination.
The result of the same  was received today by Amateur Karate Do Association of Jammu and Kashmir (AKAJK) from the National Federation Karate Association of India (KAI) recognized by Govt. of India (Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports) Member World Karate Federation (WKF) recognized by International Olympic (IOC), Member of Sport Accord & International World Games Association (IWGA).
They have qualified KUMITE referee exam.
The duo was recommended by the State Karate Association for the course.
Earlier they successfully attended the seminar conducted by KAI under the chairmanship of S. Bhaskar, Chairman Referee Commission, KAI.
Thereafter, they appeared in the examination held at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi during the recently held KAI Senior National Karate Championship.
Both of them qualified the theoretical as well as practical exam and have been certified as KUMITE referees of Karate Association of India.
Ambedkar Gupta, president of State Karate Association lauded the efforts of these Karatekas for this achievement and thanked R Thiagarajan, president, KAI and Shihan Bharat Sharma, general secretary, KAI for their support.
