UDHAMPUR, Feb 23: The 1st District Udhampur Bench Press & Deadlift Championship concluded today. The event was organized by Arnold Fitness Club under the leadership of Deep Thakur, along with Iqbal Singh, Vijay Pal Singh, Sunil Kumar, Sumit Thakyal, Sahil Anand and Shailendra.
Senior leader Pawan Khajuria, chief guest of the event, urged youth to stay away from social evils like drugs and channel their energy into sports. He highlighted that sports develop physical strength, mental resilience, discipline, confidence and leadership qualities and assured full support to athletes, coaches, and organizers.
The championship witnessed enthusiastic participation from athletes across Doda, Kathua, Samba and Jammu districts in various weight categories for bench press and deadlift events. Female athletes made a remarkable impact with their courage and outstanding performances, inspiring more young girls to pursue sports.
Guests of honour included Gagan Sharma, Rahul Gupta, Vikas Sharma, Kuldeep, Rohit Sarmal, Sunny Kalsotra, Raghav Raina, Vikky Choudhary, Sanjay Verma, Satish Jandial and Sunny Sharma. The organizing committee ensured smooth arrangements, making the event a resounding success.
