JAMMU, Aug 2: Nineteen players are leading at 2 points each after the conclusion of Round-2 in the ongoing National Under-25 Chess Championship at International Delhi Public School (IDPS), Bathindi, here.
Harshal Shahi, Bharadia Yash, Kumar S.Trivedi Karan R, Aditya P Melani, Chudasama Ankit, Vivekananda L, Mohit Kumar Soni, Sibi Visal R, Sparsh Khandelwal, Sanjay S Pillai, Dutta Sarthak, Patil Rohit R, Ashish Raj, Shahab Ahmad Farooqui, Gahan M G, Vikash Nishad,Shivam Verma and Raghav Juneja were all at 2 points each after 2 rounds.
Seven more rounds are still to be played in this event.
After the exit of 4 players, 109 players from 22 States are participating in this event.
The event is being organized by Crown Trust under the banner of All J&K Chess Association and J&K State Sports Council. The event is being played under FIDE Laws of chess under Swiss system in which total 9 rounds will be played.
The event was allotted by AICF to J&K on the request of Atul Kumar Gupta, President All J&K Chess Association, while Raj Kumar DySP Prosecution is the Organizing Secretary of this event. Prominent among others present on the occasion were Baldev Raj, Taranvir Singh Gujral, Kuljeet Singh Jamwal, Vikas Nanda, Dr AS Bhatia, Rakesh Kumar Gupta and Madhu Abrol.
Nitin Shenvi and Pranesh Yadav are Chief and Deputy Chief Arbiters appointed by the Federation for this event.
Other supporting Arbiters are Anil Kotwal and Bindu Pathania, while the technical help is also being provided by Ravi Sharma and Sunil Sharma. among others.
This is the record 14th All India level event by AJKCA.
