157 TA Regiment emerges overall winner

SAMBA, Mar 10: 157 TA Regiment H&H Sikh emerged overall winner in the two day long “Rural Sports Festival”, being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports at Mahal Shahah in Ramgarh.
The 157 TA Regiment H&H Sikh lifted the title trophy in Volleyball, Kabaddi and Tug-of-War events, whereas, runner-up trophy in Volleyball was claimed by Panchayat Gho Brahmana and Panchayat Mahal Shahan claimed runner-up trophies in Kabaddi and Tug-of-War.
On the valedictory function, Major Bardan Lama of 157 TA Regiment H&H Sikh was the chief guest, who presented trophies among the winner and runner-up teams.
While speaking, Major Bardan Lama threw light on the importance of sports in day-to-day life. He asked the youths to participate in the sports activities to keep their body mentally and physically fit.
Jarpal Singh, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Samba, while speaking expressed gratitude to Colonel Ajay Sharma, Commanding Officer, 157 Regiment TA H&H Sikh for his cooperation in making the festival a grand success.
He added that in the discipline of Volleyball fifteen teams took part, whereas, in Kabaddi and Tug of War events, eight teams each participated representing their panchayat and local clubs
Earlier, Jaipal Singh, Director, Department of Youth Services and Sports declared the two days festival open.
