JAMMU, June 22: J&K Wrestling Association has selected a contingent of 14 wrestlers from J&K for their participation in the forthcoming nationals.
The wrestlers have been selected to participate in the 32nd Boys Free Style, Greco Roman Style and 16th Girls Sub Junior (Cadet) National Wrestling Championship to be held at Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu from June 27 to 30.
The wrestlers selected were Gourav Kumar, Dalbir Singh, Rajinder Singh, Yaqoob Ali, Anand Sagar, Aashish Kumar, Sehdev Singh, Ashni Kumar, Gorav Kumar, Lakshay Wadhawan, Rahul Kumar, Deepak Sharma, Ranbir Singh Chib and Mukesh Kumar.
Ravinder Kumar and Sahil Kumar will accompany the team as coaches, whereas, Sukhdev Singh as manager.
The screening of the team was held at wrestling hall, MA Stadium under the supervision of Ajay Vaid, general secretary of J&K Wrestling Association and Ravi Singh, Sports Officer, J&K State Sports Council.
During screening, members of J&K Wrestling Association including Vijay Pahalwan, vice-president, Swarn Lal, joint secretary, Om Parkash, Chairman Executive Committee, Raju Sharma, cashier, Dheeraj Sharma, coach and Raj Kumar were also present.
In a communiqué, Sports Minister Taj Mohi-ud-Din said that the medal winners will be suitably rewarded by Government.
