KATRA, Aug 3: On the second day of the 12th J&K UT Shooting Championship unfolded with an awe-inspiring display of marksmanship at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Sports Complex, Katra, today.
The event witnessed the participation of accomplished marksmen and markswomen from different district associations, shooting clubs and schools across Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory (J&K UT), including Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, Reasi, Srinagar and Baramulla.
Competitors from renowned shooting establishments like M 10 X Shooting Academy, Mission Olympic Shooting Academy, General Zorawar Singh Rifle Club, APS Samba, DPS Jammu, IDPS Jammu and J&K Police
Shooting Club and SMVDSB Katra, demonstrated their exceptional skills in the International Shooting Federation (ISF) and National Championship Rifle (NCR) air pistol and air rifle events.
The spotlight of the day’s events shone on the 50-meter shooting competitions, which took place at Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy in Udhampur. Here, shooters displayed their prowess in the challenging 50-meter rifle prone and 50-meter rifle 3 position events.
In the ISF rifle category, the competition was fierce, and the results were nothing short of remarkable. Anisha Sharma exhibited exceptional precision, securing an impressive score of 628.9, while Vishal
Sharma followed closely with a score of 628.8. Notably, Raveena Jangid and Harshvardhan Singh also achieved commendable scores of 62.9, further adding to the intensity of the competition.
The matches were conducted under the supervision of Rajesh Virdi and assisted by Tarun Dev Singh, Sahil Sharma, Pranav Sambyal, and Vishal Mehra, who ensured the smooth execution of the event.
SS. Sodhi, President of the J&K Rifle Association expressed his pride in the exceptional performances witnessed during the championship.
