11 cueists make to next round of Senior Snooker Championship

JAMMU, Sept 2: Eleven cueists–Furkan Wani, Jaswinder Singh (Micky), Gagandeep Singh, Pankaj, Abhishek, Rohit Sharma, Ankit Gupta, Sharan Dev Singh, Mandeep Singh, Sourav Sharma and Arjun Sharma thrashed rivals and entered into the second round of the ongoing Senior Snooker Championship, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Billiards and Snooker Assocation (JKBSA), at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here today.
In the first match, Furkan Wani defeated Harish Vardhan by 3-2 frames. Furkan won the first frame by 56-40 and the game was equalized by Harish by winning the second frame by 69-22. Harish continued the winning pace and won the third frame by 45-36, however, Furkan won the fourth frame by 62-51 and brought the game to equalizer. In the decider frame, Furkan registered win over Harish by 65-16 and sailed into the next stage of the tourney.
In the second match, Jaswinder Singh (Micky) smashed Ankush Sharma by 3-2 frames. Ankush won the first frame by 56-34, while Jaswinder won the second frame by 50-17 and equalized the game. The third frame was won by Jaswinder by 56-29 and the game was equalized by Ankush by winning the fourth frame by 60-35. In the decider frame, Jaswinder toppled Ankush by 53-27 and advanced to the next phase.
Gagandeep Singh beat Nikhil Verma by 3-1 frames in the third match. Gagandeep won the first frame by 59-31 and again registered win in the second frame by 60-35. Nikhil registered win in the third frame by 71-31, but lost the fourth frame by 5-28 and paved way for Gagandeep to enter into the next round.
In the fourth match, Pankaj thrashed Ashish Sharma by 3-2 frames (53-28, 31-63, 49-50, 63-38 and 55-31), whereas in the fifth game, Abhishek registered win over Aditya Sharma by 3-1 frames (46-31, 27-50, 57-26 and 32-13).
Rohit Sharma routed Manik Sharma by 3-1 frames (54-21, 31-35, 45-37 and 84-37) in the sixth game and sailed into the next stage of the tourney, whereas in the seventh game, Ankit Gupta crushed Goutam Jamwal by straight 3-0 frames (66-16, 51-41 and 71-62).
In the eighth game, Sharan Dev Singh toppled Abhishek Goswami by 3-1 frames (48-58, 68-38, 52-27 and 67-29) and in the ninth game, Mandeep Singh beat Kashif by straight 3-0 frames (63-32, 62-28 and 53-46).
In the tenth game, Sourav Sharma defeated Jaswinder Singh by straight 3-0 frames (65-23, 52-31 and 56-31), whereas in the last and eleventh match of the day, Arjun Sharma crushed Chetan Slathia by 3-1 frames.
