Zone Level Inter-School tournament gets underway

HIRANAGAR, Apr 23: Inter School Zonal Level tournament of Hiranagar Zone for Under-14 and Under-17 boys and girls got underway at Sports Stadium, here today.
The tournament was inaugurated by Zonal Education Planning Officer, Kishori Lal in an impressive and well attended function.
Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and Volleyball matches for under-14 and under-17 years girls were held on day-1, wherein a total of 270 players took part.
The matches were officiated by Avnesh Kumar, Ganesh Dass, Dharampal, Rakesh Kumar, Naresh Kumar, Ajith Kumar, Omkar Singh, Kunti Devi, Manjeet Kaur, Amarjeet Kaur, Sunita Sharma, Neeraj Sharma, Rajesh Kumar, Omkar Nath and Manmohan Singh.
In Kabaddi under-14 girls, Government Model Middle School Hiranagar defeated Government Middle School Ward No-1 Hiranagar by 6 points in the final to win the title.
Earlier, Government Model Middle School Hiranagar outplayed Government Middle school Haripur in 1st semifinal and Government Middle School Ward No-1 Hiranagar defeated Government Middle School Jandi by 6 points.
In Kabaddi under-17 girls, Government High School Chadwal defeated Government Girls High School Hiranagar in the final by 7 points.
Earlier, Government High School Chadwal outplayed Government Higher Secondary School Chakra in the first semifinal and in 2nd semifinal Government Girls High School Hiranagar trounced Government Girls High School Kootah.
In Volleyball under-17 girls, Government Higher Secondary School Marheen defeated Government Higher Secondary School Chakra by 2-1 sets.
In Kho-Kho Under-17 girls, Government Girls High School Hiranagar defeated Government Girls High School Kootah by two points in the final.
Earlier, Government Girls High School Kootah outplayed Government High School Sherpur by 6 points in 1st semifinal, while in second semifinal, Government Girls High School Hiranagar outplayed Government Higher Secondary School Chakra by two points.
