‘YUVATARANG’ gets underway at CLUJ

JAMMU, Jan 18: YUVATARANG 2022-23-a mega cultural literary contest to commemorate 75 years of Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was organized by the Department of Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ) under the patronage of University Vice Chancellor, here today.
Three constituent Colleges of CLUJ including GGM Science College, Govt. SPMR College of Commerce and Govt. College of Education witnessed a massive and vibrant participation of students of the constituent colleges and PG schools.
The opening day started with the literary segment “SAAHITYAM”-Elocution’, poetry recitation, debate contests at GGM Science College, while quiz competition at SPMR College of Commerce, followed by creative and fine arts segment “SANRACHNA” at GCOE with three events which included rangoli, poster making and collage making competitions .
Dr Jatinder Khajuria, Registrar CLUJ graced the prize distribution ceremony as chief guest along with Dr Rajesh Gupta, Principal GGM Science College, Dr Ekta Gupta Principal GCOE and Dr Surinder Sharma, Principal, Govt. SPMR College.
Dr Twinkle Suri highlighted the essence of the contest which shall be showcasing the multiple talents of the young learners in diverse arenas.
The jury comprising eminent academicians including Prof MA Wani (Retd. Deptt of Urdu, JU), Dr Sudhir Singh (Joint Secretary, JKBOSE), Prof Bindu Chib (Associate Prof Hindi) for literary activities, while Dr Ashwin Kushwaha (Deptt. of Library Sciences, JU) as quiz master and Dr Ritu Magotra and Dr Shalini Sharma (Associate Prof, GCW Parade) and Amarjeet Singh (IMFA) for fine arts.
In elocution, Manya Sharma, School of Humanities and Liberal Arts bagged 1st position, Sania, MAM College secured 2nd position and Mehak Sharma, GCW Gandhi Nagar secured 3rd position.
In poetry recitation, Mansha Akhter, GCW Gandhi Nagar secured 1st position, Saquib Farooq and Shahid Iqbal, MAM College secured 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
In debate, Haspreet Kour, GCW Gandhi Nagar, Janvi Kour, SPMR College and Umar Ayub, MAM College secured top three positions respectively, while in quiz, Aksher Goswami, Aditay Bhardwaj, Amanpreet Singh, MAM College bagged 1st position, Karan Kumar, Anil Kumar Sharma, Jagmeet Singh, GGM Science secured 2nd position and Jiya, Sakshi and Kaamna, GCW Gandhi Nagar secured 3rd position.
In rangoli, Ayushi Bhardwaj, School of Sciences bagged 1st position, Nitika Sharma, School of Humanities and Liberal Arts secured 2nd position and Sakshi, School of Teacher Education secured 3rd position , while in poster making , Komal Sharma and Arushi Sharma, GCOE bagged Ist and 2nd positions respectively and Sukhleen Kour, School of Humanities and Liberal Arts secured 3rd position and in collage, Shallu Khajuria, GCOE bagged Ist position, Navnidhan Kour, GCW Gandhi Nagar secured 2nd position and Seerat, GGM Science College secured 3rd position.
